After 20 years, The Dinosaur Lady has officially Retired!!
I’d like to thank all of the families, libraries, schools , museums and program planners both in CO and NM who booked programs and events for the dinosaur lady. I will miss the kids most of all as I look back on the people & places I’ve been able to share my love of Paleontology
CONNIE B. BURKHART is THE DINOSAUR LADY!
EDUCATION, ENTERTAINMENT & FUN!
Connie B. Burkhart is an earth science educator and fossil hunter who has enjoyed multiple excavation experiences in the fields of
paleontology and archaeology.
She has worked as a museum artist, research assistant, and for five years co-lead the 'Dinosaurs' seminar at Ghost Ranch, in Abiquiu NM.
She has also lead workshops and field trips in the four corners and northern New Mexico area many years.
But it is because of her desire to spread the love of science and discovery to young hearts, that Connie developed 'The Dinosaur Lady',
and an integrated presentation that
blends her passion for science and art with her love of performance.
Weaving together facts and stories using fossils, puppets and props, the Dinosaur Lady has captured the interest of various museums, the Geologic Society of America, libraries, schools, day camps and many outdoor adventure groups throughout the southwestern United States.
Her expeditions throughout the 4-corner states have given her many experiences and stories
to weave into her wonderful style of approaching education.

DINOSAUR BIRTHDAY PARTIES
THE PARTY PACKAGE ~ AGES 3 - 10
The Dinosaur Lady arrives about 70 minutes before your party to set up. She comes fully prepared to fill your party time with a fun presentation and craft for the kids - all you supply is the cake and ice cream and any other food items you may wish to serve!
PRESENTATION
The presentation at the party last about 45 minutes. The Dinosaur Lady uses humor that engages kids so they pay attention, listen, learn and interact. The party will also include a take home dinosaur craft usually done after the presentation. Of course there is the finale guest, Dino the green-nosed dinosaur - a well loved puppet mascot of The Dinosaur Lady!
TIME REQUIREMENTS & LOCATION
The Dinosaur Birthday party lasts about 2 hours including the presentation and dinosaur craft activity. If you have questions regarding your own space and how The Dinosaur Lady would set up, please email or call. Only one party per day is booked, so just let the Dinosaur Lady know what you need to make it work for you!
HOW TO PREPARE
The Dinosaur Lady will bring everything for your child's party except for any food items.
THE CRAFT
The kids paint a wood cut out of a Stegosaurous with a magnet on the back. It is a time where the kids can 'imagine' the color of their dinosaur and blend art with science.
The craft can take about 15 minutes depending on the young artists and their attention to detail! This is most often done after the presentation so the craft has as much time as possible to dry.
Parent participation for the start of the craft is encouraged. Every dinosaur magnet needs the child's name written on it so that they can be easily picked up as your guests leave to go home. Parents can help by writing the names, and putting paint on the kids painting plates so they can get started on their creative experience!

$175 for up to 20 children ~ includes, a 45 minute program with The Dinosaur Lady and a dinosaur activity/craft for each child to take home.

THE DINOSAUR LADY SPECIAL EVENTS & SCHOOL PRESENTATIONS
The Dinosaur Lady presentation event lasts about 1 hour.
She uses humor that engages kids so they pay attention, listen, learn and interact. Childrens' two favorite fossils are the T - Rex tooth and dinosaur droppings - yes poop. They tell a great stories, as does the finale guest, Dino the green-nosed dinosaur - a well loved puppet mascot of The Dinosaur Lady!
HOW TO PREPARE:
The Dinosaur Lady will arrive just over an 1 hour before the presentation starts to begin putting together her museum-like set up of fossils, bones and photos.
Usually kids sit on the floor to enjoy her interactive presentation and, if desired, chairs may be added behind the kids floor area for interested parents or older children.
Please see a photo of the set up for normal space requirements. Connie is able to downsize a bit for smaller rooms if needed.

"Terrific! 4 STARS!! The dinosaur lady (Connie Burton Burkhart) was at a birthday party we attended this past weekend and she was really terrific. I wanted to let you all know about her in case you are planning a birthday party for a dinosaur lover sometime soon. She is probably best for the 5-7 year old age group, but our party was mostly 3 and 4 year olds and she held their attention just fine -- as well as all the adults! She brought a ton of fossils and described how you find and extract dinosaur bones (she's a paleontologist who has been doing it in the field for years), talked about different dinosaurs, and brought a dino-related craft.
